ShakeOut Partners

We must all better prepare for major earthquakes, which means knowing how to respond and protect ourselves when they occur. The purpose of ShakeOutBC is to help British Columbians and organizations do both.

ShakeOutBC is made possible by the generous support of sponsors, co-organizers and volunteers dedicated to improving earthquake knowledge and safety in BC. The goal is to have at least one million British Columbians participating in the annual “drop, cover and hold on” earthquake drill every October.

If your organization is interested in being part of our volunteer team, drop us a line at If your business or organization is interested in becoming a financial sponsor, read the BC Earthquake Alliance Sponsorship Prospectus to learn more.

ShakeOutBC is a partnership between national, provincial and local government agencies. The provincial organizing team is comprised of members from:

Government of British Columbia: PreparedBC
Public Safety Canada
Natural Resources Canada
Capital Regional District
District of Oak Bay
Kwantlen Polytechnic University
Bernadette Woit, School Emergency Planning Consultant

Thanks to all the other government agencies, businesses, organizations, schools and community groups that actively promote ShakeOutBC to their members and constituents.
